The extended Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday is a fantastic opportunity to relax and indulge in delicious food. However, after several days of enjoying traditional family meals with Banh Chung (sticky rice cake) and Canh Mang (bamboo shoot soup), many might crave a change with new and exciting flavors. If you find yourself in Hanoi and are looking for a delicious and different restaurant during the Tet festivities, let me recommend one of my absolute favorite Thai food spots – Me Me Bistro.

In this unique feature, "What to Eat in Hanoi During the 9-Day Tet Holiday," Me Me Bistro is the next place I want to introduce to save you the trouble of searching. The restaurant will be closed for the Tet holiday from the 27th to the 30th of the twelfth lunar month, and importantly, it will reopen very soon on the 31st, the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year. By the third day of Tet, Thai cuisine is undoubtedly a perfect choice when traditional dishes might feel repetitive.

Me Bistro is one of my go-to places whenever I crave the flavors of Thailand. The Thai Fan Dish is perhaps the most delicious and suits my taste buds the best I've ever had.

Although I've tried many other good Thai restaurants, Me Me Bistro always makes an impression of their Thai Fan Dish, which lies in the perfectly seasoned sauce, neither too bland nor too overpowering, just incredibly flavorful. The undeniable highlight is the accompanying runny yolk egg, creating a harmonious and prosperous combination.

Besides the Thai Fan Dish, two other dishes I highly recommend are the Spicy Shrimp Salad (Gỏi tôm nhăm) and the Grilled Pork Neck (Nọng heo nướng). The Grilled Pork Neck here always satisfies me because it has never been dry; the meat always retains its moisture and tenderness.

As for the Spicy Shrimp Salad, sometimes the flavor might be a bit stronger, perhaps from the sauce at the bottom of the batch, but overall, it maintains its characteristic sour and spicy notes. The fresh shrimp is a must-try for those who enjoy raw seafood. In my experience, the shrimp here is consistently fresh and crunchy. The shrimp salad dressing is rich with a perfect sour, spicy, and sweet balance.

During my recent visit, I also tried the Crispy Roasted Pork Salad (Gỏi heo quay giòn), but frankly, it didn't impress me as much as the Pomelo Salad (Gỏi bưởi). The Pomelo Salad at Me Me Bistro seems to have become my "must-order" dish every time I visit.

In summary, Me Me Bistro is a very familiar place, and I believe it will also be the top Thai food choice for many people in Hanoi. Another critical piece of information is the restaurant's Tet holiday operating hours, which have been clearly announced. Please save this information to plan your visit to Me Me Bistro during the upcoming holidays! I'm confident that the authentic Thai flavors and the restaurant's cozy atmosphere will provide you with delightful and memorable culinary experiences this Tet.

Don't forget to try the fantastic Thai Fan Dish, the fresh and delicious Spicy Shrimp Salad, and the tender Grilled Pork Neck – dishes that have won my heart and will also please you. Wishing everyone a peaceful Tet holiday, and don't forget to explore the exciting culinary scene in Hanoi!
